EUR-ACE® accreditation system

The European Network for Accreditation in the Field of Engineering Education (ENAEE) is a network of accreditation agencies aimed at creating and ensuring the functioning of a pan–European accreditation system for engineering educational programs.

The main objectives of the European Network for Accreditation in Engineering Education (ENAEE) are:

  • Increasing confidence in the accreditation system of engineering programs;
  • Promotion of the EUR-ACE® quality mark and its corresponding standards;
  • Support, promotion and coordination of the work of national accreditation agencies, initiation of regular expert reviews.

The quality assessment and certification of accreditation agencies is carried out in accordance with the «European Standards and Recommendations for Quality Assurance of Higher Education in the European Area» (ESG) and the requirements of employers.

ENAEE members are agencies and professional organizations interested in the education and training of engineering specialists.

The ENAEE member accreditation agencies have the right to award the EUR-ACE® quality mark to accredited engineering educational programs of SPE and HPE.

Advantages of the awarded EUR-ACE® quality mark:

  • Inclusion of the program in the Pan-European Register of Accredited engineering programs;
  • Recognition of the high quality of the educational program at the pan-European level (above the required level of quality established within the framework of legislation);
  • Stimulating the influx of prospective applicants to an accredited program;
  • Compliance of knowledge, skills and abilities of graduates of accredited programs with European and international quality standards recognized by European employers;
  • Providing reliable information about the quality of the program and the competence of the graduate to take the graduate to the next level of study or to work;
  • Compliance of accredited programs with the educational requirements required for registration/certification of an engineer.

At the moment, CAAAE is the only Kazakh accreditation agency in ENAEE, despite the fact that the number of national agencies that are part of ENAEE is not limited.

ENAEE consists of 17 full–fledged participants — accreditation agencies from the European Union (11 countries), Russia, Turkey and Switzerland, as well as 4 associate participants.

The EUR-ACE® quality mark has been awarded to more than 1,600 engineering educational programs from 300 universities and other educational institutions in 21 countries around the world.
