CAAAE Represents Central Asia at the ENAEE General Assembly in Madrid

On 23–24 October 2025, CAAAE took part in the ENAEE General Assembly at the Institute of Engineering of Spain in Madrid as the only accreditation agency representing Central Asia.

On 23–24 October 2025, the Central Asian Association for Accreditation of Education (CAAAE), a full member of the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE), took part in the regular meeting of the ENAEE General Assembly held at the Institute of Engineering of Spain in Madrid.

CAAAE was the only accreditation agency representing Central Asia at this major international forum for engineering education quality assurance.

The General Assembly programme included a workshop on current issues in the methodology of engineering education quality assessment and the procedures for awarding the international EUR-ACE® Label, during which participants examined practical cases of programme evaluation and modern approaches to the development of international accreditation.

At the plenary session, ENAEE President José Quadrado presented a report on the Network's activities, shared best international practices in engineering education accreditation and outlined the priorities for the organisation's further development. Participants also reviewed ENAEE's financial report and elected new members of its committees.

Particular attention was paid to the work of CAAAE. ENAEE President José Quadrado noted the Association's leading role in promoting ENAEE standards in the countries of Central Asia and highlighted its contribution to international cooperation, mutual recognition of engineering education quality and the formation of a common regional educational space.

Today CAAAE is the only professional public accreditation organisation in Central Asia authorised to award the international EUR-ACE® Label to engineering degree programmes.

The label has already been awarded to degree programmes of Kazakhstan's leading universities, including Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Satbayev Kazakh National Research Technical University, Kazakh National Agrarian Research University, L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University, Karaganda Buketov Research University and others.

As part of the expansion of its international activities, CAAAE plans to accredit engineering degree programmes of Tashkent State Technical University, the M. Osimi Tajik Technical University and KIMYO International University in Tashkent. Upon successful completion of the evaluation procedures, these programmes will be eligible for the international EUR-ACE® Label.

In addition, CAAAE became the first accreditation agency in Central Asia to successfully carry out the international accreditation of a European university — the University of Navarra (Spain) — as a result of which nine degree programmes were awarded the EUR-ACE® Label.

High praise was also given to CAAAE's work as the operator of the Central Asian Federation for Quality Assurance in Education (CAFQA) and of the regional CAFQA Register, synchronised with European databases. These initiatives promote academic mobility, increase the transparency of quality assurance systems and support the international recognition of qualifications held by graduates of Central Asian universities.
