Kazakhstan's CAAAE Becomes the First Agency to Accredit a European University

Together with the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE), the Association carried out the international accreditation of nine engineering degree programmes at the University of Navarra (Spain).

The Central Asian Association for Accreditation of Education (CAAAE) continues to strengthen Kazakhstan's international standing in higher education quality assurance. In late October 2025, the Association, jointly with the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE), conducted the international accreditation of nine engineering degree programmes at the University of Navarra (Spain).

This became a landmark event not only for CAAAE but for Kazakhstan's entire higher education system. For the first time, an accreditation agency from Kazakhstan and Central Asia successfully carried out the international accreditation of a European university, confirming its high level of professional expertise and the trust placed in it by the European academic community.

CAAAE is one of Kazakhstan's leading professional public accreditation agencies, included in the Register of Recognised Accreditation Bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Today the Association operates not only in Kazakhstan and the countries of Central Asia, but also actively develops cooperation with European partners in higher education quality assurance.

CAAAE's participation in international accreditation procedures helps strengthen confidence in Kazakhstan's education quality assurance system, expand academic cooperation, promote the international mobility of students and faculty, and enhance the international recognition of educational programmes and qualifications.

An important area of the Association's work is participation in European initiatives, including the Erasmus+ EduFusion project, aimed at improving quality assurance mechanisms, adopting best European practices and harmonising educational standards. These projects create additional opportunities for integrating Kazakhstani universities into the European Higher Education Area.

The results achieved confirm that CAAAE is becoming an important link between Kazakhstan's higher education system and the European educational community, opening up new opportunities for the international recognition of national universities and enhancing their competitiveness at the global level.
